Xoomworks have just returned from a few days with the Procurement Leaders network – two days at the very informative World Procurement Congress and one evening at the very drink-based Procurement Leaders awards where we were sponsors and also shortlisted as a finalist for the Best Procurement Service Provider award.
The two day event contained some interesting presentations, a common theme emerging from the leaders of some very large global corporations that Procurement needs to stop just being about savings and more about creating value, whether this is generating revenue, getting products to market quicker or mitigating and managing risk more effectively. We, at Xoomworks Procurement, wholeheartedly agree with this sentiment, and also some of the key messages that came out from the event about the importance of branding, engaging with the business and developing capability, key messages in our Complete Procurement framework.
Following the event, over 700 senior procurement executives gathered at the Hilton on Park Lane for the annual Procurement Leaders Awards, to recognise and celebrate excellence in the world of procurement and supply management. Over 300 entries were received from 140 different companies in 28 countries for this year’s annual Procurement Leaders Awards. We were proud to be listed as one of the five finalists for Best Procurement Service provider – an award based on innovation, value for money and great customer service. It was a great two day event and awards evening even though we were pipped to the winners post, there is always next year so watch this space….
