This month’s meet the team section features Inga Tihon, OPS Team Manager at Xoomworks Procurement part of Accenture. She is part of our team for 9 years now and successfully managed various operational procurement support projects.
Tell us about your journey in Xoomworks.
I joined Xoomworks in 2013 as a Data Analyst on an Ariba on-premise project for a global energy and transportation company. I have worked on this project for a few years with a great Xoomworks team as well as client, learned a lot about Ariba, data analysis, ERPs and travelled to Switzerland multiple times.
Having been promoted to a Team Lead role and then to a Team Manager role, my team increased from 3 people to almost 20. I have also grown my knowledge on Ariba, Coupa, Jaggaer, Taulia and integrations, having to manage different Procurement Support services.
What do you like most about working at Xoomworks?
If I were to summarise, I would say it comes down to the people I work with every day. They are kind, open, curious, and always there to help. I can honestly say that there is a lot of diversity, flexibility and freedom that allow me to manage projects and the team with the right balance of receiving support when I need it.
Are there any projects that you are particularly fond of?
I have mostly managed support services that were not done in the past or not done for a long time, which meant they were both challenging and rewarding at the same time. All of them are very different, some are continuing for the 9th year now, others finish in a few months and each of them brings something new: be it processes, systems or tools, or even colleagues from other teams.
I am particularly fond of my first Ariba support service where I have worked with an incredible team and although I have stepped away from day-to-day activities in the recent years, it remains one of the dearest projects due to the knowledge I gathered and the people I have met and worked with.
Let’s talk about your team. Who are they and what makes them special?
We are an interesting bunch of people with very different personalities, and we are usually working on different projects. Some of them I have known for 9 years, others just recently joined. But each of them is helping me grow both professionally and as an individual and I do hope that I continue to return the favour each day.
What are your hobbies? What do you like doing in your free time?
I enjoy hiking with my dog in my free time. I have to say, she is much better than me at this, but I am doing my best. And on another note, I do hope to be able to travel more this year, as this is another hobby of mine.
