FT Core is a central part of the FT’s Product and Technology division – it is a platform that supports audience facing products such as FT.com and our print products which provide a broad range of news, comment, data and analysis to the growing community of internationally minded business people.
FT Core is responsible for the platforms that manage the content and metadata produced by our editorial teams, the data that is used across the business to access and understand critical insights, and the services we use to run our membership and subscription business.
The FT is looking for a seasoned Group Product Manager to lead on the development and delivery a vision and strategy for a key technical product area within FT Core.
As a Group Product Manager, you will be responsible for leading the development of products/services within the FT Core platform such as our content and metadata platform, our data intelligence platform or our membership (identity, access management, billing and payment) platform. You will synthesise user research and requirements from a disparate set of executive stakeholders into clear product goals, and you will work with your colleagues across engineering, design, and research to turn these goals into executable plans. You will regularly and clearly communicate the team’s progress back to these stakeholders, working closely with delivery leads and technical leadership to do so. This role will require you to be familiar with the evolving ways that customers (both internal and external) engage with FT Core products.
We expect that you are an experienced product manager with a deep understanding of customer-centered design and data driven decision making. You should have an interest in digital publishing and be able to communicate with engineers, designers, and other product managers, and be able to translate between these disciplines in order to ensure everyone is on the same page. You can quickly and confidently make decisions when it’s called for and use your exceptional communication skills (both written and oral) to develop healthy relationships with people from diverse backgrounds and fields. You are at ease with a remote working culture and understand how to support a geographically distributed team.
