Our highlights from eWorld February 2018

by | March 16, 2018

Another year, another successful eWorld event! Just like every year we started off the event season with the leading bi-annual event for Procurement and Supply Chain Innovation, and just like every year we had a great time and had the opportunity to meet some of the industry leaders, learn and share innovations and connect with potential customers. eWorld provides the perfect scene to share procurement best practice as well as lessons learned along the way. This year we hosted 2 sessions during the event, which we have briefly summarized below.

Digital procurement – a practical guide

Our first session this year was focused on digital procurement, one of this year’s hot and at times taboo topics, leading to full house during the presentation. Trevor Tyler, one of our Principal Consultants, hosted the session and managed to deliver an insightful presentation on what digital procurement is and the type of journey that could be undertaken to reach a full digitally enabled procurement function. And we are proud to say that he painted a pretty good picture of what can be done to either start or complete a company’s digital journey due to having 2 digital procurement assessment workshops being booked straight after the session closed.

Q&A session with Northumbria University on implementing a new P2P solution

Our second session was a client Q&A with Northumbria University. Universities are complex businesses and can be a difficult environment when implementing an enterprise wide eProcurement solution. We hold this project dear and we wanted to share with the audience some of the challenges faced and lessons learnt. Martin Denham, Operations Director, Xoomworks Procurement – hosted this session and had the pleasure to be joined online by Mark Gill, Commercial Director, Northumbria University. Despite the nasty weather conditions and the delayed trains, which prevented Mark from joining us in person, we had quite an interactive session.

Our take on the event

eWorld offers great networking potential and we had the chance to share ideas with industry peers and have some insightful conversations with potential customers. As always, it’s great to learn about new challenges procurement faces and eWorld gives a good basis for extending our procurement consulting service portfolio and making sure we have all the answers to our customers’ problems.
