6th June 2011 What did you do before you came to Xoomworks? I joined Xoomworks after working for 23 years for Royal Mail, beginning my working life as a postman in Mansfield. From 1992 to 2011 I worked within Royal Mail's procurement function having a number of roles from Category Manager to Senior Procurement Manager Technology. I was involved in delivering Royal Mail's eProcurement solution (SAP SRM) and later involved in the delivery of SAP E-Sourcing, migrating over 1,000 business contracts into the new system !! More recently I was involved in setting up and running Royal Mail's eAuction programme. In addition to the above I also had the pleasure of leading Royal Mail Group Procurement's People Group, a forum aimed at ensuring that the people within the function had an active role in saying how procurement was governed and structured - an extremely rewarding and satisfying role !! Any other secrets? I have also played in a number of bands including Wide Eyed Wonder and Polaroyd. I love playing the guitar !! Why did you choose Xoomworks? I wanted to work with an innovative and passionate team where people and relationships are the key focus. I heard only great things about Xoomworks from SAP and other colleagues and want to positively contribute and be part of the success story here !! What is your favourite book/film? Tom's Midnight Garden, Animal Farm, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Road, Of Mice and Men, Shindlers Ark, Lucky Jim /No Country for Old Men, Fargo, Trainspotting, LA Confidential, Taxi Driver, Aliens What is the most beautiful song in the world? Probably my favourite song is ‘Like a Rolling Stone’ by Bob Dylan. I’ve been listening to that song since I was 15 and I still hear different things in it now – it is just so varied.
