What does a Team Lead at Xoomworks do?

So far I have been involved in several big projects, while also doing bits and pieces on smaller ones. I started as an analyst working for Sony Europe, moved on to supporting AXA one year later, and then started leading a Cluj-based support team in the summer of 2009. So far this has been the most challenging role of all, because as a team lead my responsibilities changed dramatically and I often had to deal with complex situations.

What did you do before you came to Xoomworks?

I was a fresh graduate when I joined Xoomworks. My previous job had been a 6-month internship in a consultancy company in Slovakia – I was hired to teach their employees English.

Why did you choose Xoomworks?

After graduating from Translation studies, I was eager to use my English skills but at the same time I wanted to learn something new.  I admit I chose the role rather than the company, because Xoomworks was just starting up in Cluj - I was actually one of the first employees.  The functional role in the Managed Services team seemed full of opportunities because of this amazing e-procumrement tool called Ariba.  Almost four years later, I can say I wasn't wrong.

What do you love about your role?

The thing I love most about my job is the diversity: it’s amazing to interact with people from different backgrounds and to be exposed to so many new technologies. I am also very proud of my team, they always show great spirit and because of this even in difficult times we make working together fun.
