The Great Place to Work® Institute UK has announced Xoomworks Ltd as a recipient of its prestigious Great Place to Work® award for 2012. Xoomworks is a British small/medium enterprise based in London and has been established for over 12 years, delivering Procurement and Business Intelligence Consulting Services and Applications Maintenance and Development Services.
Xoomworks prides itself on its culture and people, and is passionate about engaging with clients and building strong, long-lasting relationships. Out of all the entries in the UK, Xoomworks Ltd made it to the Grand Final, where all entries were whittled down to the top 25. Out of this amazing group of companies, we were over the moon to come 10th.

Nic went on to share that “having freedom is a great feeling and it sounds cool, but it’s not something you can enable people to have, if as a leader you feel it could be abused. Building a culture based on mutual trust within which all employees have the freedom to make an impact – now that is what I call cool.”

Jamie Holmes, Xoomworks Operations Director, shared his perspective on what he feels makes the company a great place to work.
“I am astounded by the capacity that our employees have for doing things for each other and our community. It is these many acts of kindness and support that in my mind sets our company apart. Whether it be running a school assembly at Mossbourne Academy, supporting HemiHelp on one of their many fabulous events, staying late in the office to run a training course for other team members or making time to mentor a fellow colleague over breakfast. Many companies have examples like this, but it is the sheer amount of activity and effort that shows this is not just something that we feel should be done, but is part of our very culture. Last Christmas sums it up for me –every employee in one of our offices worked independently to create a shoebox full of gifts for people less fortunate. As a single act, this is wonderful in itself, but collectively as Xoomworks this amounted to a huge amount of kindness and a significant difference to many children.”
